Vibrant historic 14-room Boutique Hotel in Cripple Creek, CO, looking for an experienced Innkeeper/Property Manager.
We are looking for a responsible on-site Innkeeper/Property Manager. We need someone who is friendly, with a great attitude, to oversee daily operations, guest services, and manage the on-site tavern. Excellent customer service is our main priority, so we expect attention to detail and a positive, productive outlook.
We will train the right candidate, but they must have the drive and be able and willing to devote time to mastering the role.
This is a full-time, live-on-site position. Seasonal options are available, ex. Summer through Fall or Winter through Spring. To ensure and maintain the highest standards for cleanliness, food quality, and guest service, the ideal candidate[s] will be positive, energetic, and knowledgeable of Inn/Bed and Breakfast operations. Must be hands-on in all aspects of the day-to-day operation, with the focus on excellent guest service and guest experience. Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Living quarters are provided in this historic building, located in one of America’s most popular and livable small mountain towns. A couple would be considered as long as all position requirements were met (sharing duties would be considered, but there would be no increase in compensation offered).
Smoking is not permitted inside the building, though designated smoking areas are available outside.
Must submit to a background and credit check (required for DSS PCI compliance, due to access to credit card and sensitive guest information). An active Colorado Gaming License will be considered in place of a background check.
The ideal person has some combination of hospitality experience, front desk hotel, commercial housekeeping, commercial cooking, and property management experience. Must have extreme attention to detail. Computer proficiency and the ability to learn ResNexus Property Management/Reservation Software quickly are a plus. Proficiency in writing and grammar is a must.
Scheduling all depends on the occupancy of the hotel. Shift swaps and additional days off are possible during slower periods/seasons.
Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Owners and additional staff are on hand performing daily operational tasks.
First 90 days are probationary. Colorado is an at-will employment state.

Compensation:
Accommodations included in-place of wages, salary scaled to account for this. Starting salary is $325.00 per week ($1,300.00 per month plus $1,005.00 credit for lodging plus approx. $200.00 credit for utilities for a total compensation of approx. $2,505.00 per month). After a successful probationary period a raise in salary rate will be considered. Employees must accept housing as a condition of employment. Accommodations provided are private and semi-furnished (includes private bathroom, private storage closet, kitchen access with personal space, all utilities and wifi service). Accommodations provided meet requirement for non-taxable income. HUD Fair Market Rent System and actual utilities used to calculate values.
Tips are possible when covering the Tavern, housekeeping and guest services.
As this is a resident manager type of position, certain labor exemptions apply. Meal breaks are dependent upon season, shift and practicality. Staff are allowed to eat on shift and take bathroom breaks whenever needed. Rest periods are dependent upon season, shift and practicality, compensation provided takes this into account. There is a “clear mutual understanding” that a weekly salary provides the regular, non-overtime rate for all hours worked.

Required to show up 15 min early to in-person shifts to ensure proper turn-over. In-person Shifts require completion of all duties prior to transfer to on-call status. On-call status requires Innkeeper to be in the Cripple Creek area, they can be in their private quarters/sleeping or engaging in other actives that they choose but will carry the duty phone to take any front desk calls. On-call status is only required for answering the phone, managing any after-hours check-ins (check-in is from 3:00PM to 9:00PM daily) or building/property emergencies.
