The Denny House Bed and Breakfast is an impressive, antebellum Greek Revival home located near the center of the historic village of Paint Lick, Kentucky in Garrard County. The house is a short drive from Richmond, Berea and Lancaster, Kentucky! The bed and breakfast hosts overnight guests as well as a variety of events including bridal showers, weddings, corporate events, private dinner parties and bridge groups.
The role of Innkeeper is vital to the overall success of the Bed and Breakfast and is primarily responsible for day-to-day B&B operations and hospitality as well as business development and general housekeeping. The Innkeeper is expected to greet all guests upon arrival and provide courteous and knowledgeable care before, during and after the stay.
This is a perfect position for someone with flexible availability, a creative spirit, loves marketing and networking and most importantly enjoys the role of host/hostess!
The position is posted as regular part-time and is hourly, non-exempt. The position is required to perform a variety of tasks examples of which are listed below. Please note this is the 2nd of two part time Innkeeper roles at The Denny House.
Essential Responsibilities
· Develop a business plan to increase occupancy and revenue.
· Engage in networking opportunities with industry and related organizations, e.g. Bed and Breakfast Association of Kentucky, The Knot, VRBO, Airbnb, local newspapers and magazines, Chambers of Commerce, florists, photographers, wedding planners, etc.
· Manage and post at least twice a week to The Denny House social media pages including Meta/Facebook and Instagram.
· Answer/return phone calls and emails from potential and confirmed guests and clients.
· Making reservations for overnight guests and events.
· Ensure The Denny House is clean and meets local/state health department inspection standards including bedrooms, bathrooms, private and common areas and is always ready for guests.
· Survey the bed and breakfast for cleanliness and maintenance issues
· Complete routine cleaning and light maintenance as needed throughout the house.
· Provide deep cleaning of guest rooms including bathrooms upon guest check-out in preparation for next occupant.
· Maintain accurate records of current and past guests.
· Event coordination, management and support for guests on event day. Be present and available during events.
· Prepare breakfast for overnight guests for each morning of a stay.
· Ensure grocery and supply shopping is done and stocked, and amenities are replenished before and during guest stays.
· Launder all linens and towels, iron all bed linens before making the bed.

Education & Experience
· Minimum of two years of hospitality experience or related experience in a tourism, travel, or restaurant role.
